ANNUALS: (definition n 3: something that lasts one season; specif: an annual plant)

These prolific bloomers and foliage plants are sometimes disdained by gardeners because they only last one season (unless you live in California or Florida). The fact is that these economical plants more than make up for their shorter life spans by providing you with astounding color and vigor. Annuals are just the ticket if you’re trying to fill in gaps while waiting for shrubs or perennial plants to mature to size. Most annuals are non-stop bloomers, so keep them in mind.

Here’s what we’ll be offering spring to Mid-Summer:

  • Great supply of familiar favorites like petunias, marigolds impatiens, snapdragons and some new, unusuals like Phormiums, Ipomoea, Brugmansia and Amaranthus

  • Annuals suitable for trailing over the edges of hanging baskets or softening the look of containers. We’ll have your favorites like Fuchsias, Bacopa, million bells, trailing Petunias, Helichrysum , Ipomoea and more…

  • Zonal geraniums: Martha Washington’s, trailing ivy, fancy and variegated foliage geraniums.
VEGETABLES: Not only are these good to eat, but the latest trend for urban gardeners short on space, is to use some of these attractive foliage plants in their flower beds. Whether as a fill-in plant, or as a nice border plant, well-grown vegetables are a beautiful sight (especially to the hungry gourmet!).

We’ll have different varieties of tomatoes, cabbages, eggplants and peppers. Remember, it’s a good idea to plant these with your herbs like basil, rosemary, thyme, oregano etc. This helps keep those pesky bugs away plus, you can pick everything you need for dinner all in the same spot. We also carry potatoes, onion sets, garlic and strawberry plants. Everything you need for that gourmet meal!

For veggies that need to be sown where they are to grow, such as carrots, beets, green onions, squash, lettuces and radishes, we have a good selection of seeds to get you started on turning your garden into your very own Farmer’s Market.
